Accessibility is an important part of our Barony’s commitment to Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging. To that end, we do our best to choose sites that are accessible as possible to anyone who wants to join us at an event. While the venue has accessible entrances and bathrooms, please note that there is no elevator between the Common Room on the lower floor and the Banquet Hall on the upper floor. For guests who need assistance, we can provide motorized cart transport as detailed below.
ThorpeWood Staff will provide motorized cart transport for guests who need assistance traveling between floors. Please note that this will take guests outside, and we will do our best to ensure your comfort and safety despite the cold January weather.
All guests will be asked to use the lower floor entrance when arriving as the Banquet Hall will be closed at the start of the event. Accessibility parking will be reserved nearest the initial entrance. If a guest will be unable to use the lower entrance or travel between floors during the event, please email the Event Steward to arrange access at the upper entrance. Each such guest, along with one escort, will be accommodated with parking near the upper floor entrance and direct access to the banquet hall.
Our event will be live-streamed and amplified for guests who cannot attend in person, ensuring they can still witness key events, such as Interlude performances in the Banquet Hall and our Court. Discreet on-site amplification will also enhance the experience for attendees.
