Highland Hearthglow A.S. LX

أهلاً وسهلاً

Ahlan wa sahlan!

It is our honor and pleasure to announce that Highland Hearthglow will return to ThorpeWood on January 24th, 2026. This year we will celebrate the culture of the Golden Age of al-Andalus, taking us to the city of Córdoba around the year 900 CE. This event will focus on the music, poetry, fashion, and of course food, in the context of shared culture among Muslims of both Arab and Amazigh origin, Jews, and Christians living in the Umayyad Caliphate. We will immerse ourselves in two aspects of social culture, both celebrating Id Yanayyir, the Christian New Year which was celebrated by everyone in the city. There will be a formal Feast to mark the occasion, as well as a more casual city market space where guests can wander and socialize. This event will celebrate Andalusi culture and great Andalusi minds such as Ziyrab, the legendary musician and courtier. Arts & Sciences opportunities will be themed on Andalusi music, poetry, philosophy, and fashion. Details on volunteering, registration, our menu, A&S challenges, and our many diversions and edifications will be forthcoming.

Until then, ma’a salama!
