Highland Hearthglow will feature three A&S Display opportunities, and we welcome entries both in person and digitally! Whether you are attending or submitting virtually, you must register for each challenge by January 4, 2025.
Les Amuse-gueules – Bring us your best snacks!
Sur la Table – Show off your feast gear!
Le Saucier Désagrable – Make art about grumpy Chefs!
Entries submitted digitally should include the entire entry. Entries being submitted in person should be fully described in the form and brought to the event on the day for display. Information for all displays will be added to the website and displayed during our event livestream.
Any questions should be directed to Frauva Svana.
Les Amuse-gueules
The Banquet’s all prepared, but our Tavern downstairs is more lively and informal. We invite guests to prepare their favorite snacks and small bites – if they are documented, even better! We will put these on display in Le Terrace en Pierre to accompany beverage service there, and for guests to sample during Interludes. Please be sure to include the full list of ingredients requested in the registration form.
Sur la Table
An unusual display for an unusual event! We encourage attendees to decorate their place setting as individuals, or their table as a group of 8 to showcase their feast gear. The display will be dynamic, meaning the pieces will be displayed in-use. Attendees participating in the dynamic display will be given a banner to place either in the center of the table, indicating that the entire table is participating, or to the left of their place setting, indicating that they are participating individually. All attendees are encouraged to walk around to view the place and table settings in the La Salle de Banquet during the First Interlude. If you intend to register as a group of 8, your seating will be pre-assigned. Please be sure to include the full names of ALL guests.
Le Saucier Désagreable!
The Ill-Tempered Saucier is a traditional style A&S display of written words, songs, visual arts, etc. with a spicy theme. The “grumpy chef” is a trope that goes back to at least Medieval times, if not beyond. Think on this character and show us something that showcases this amusing, versatile figure. Documentation suggested but not required! In-person entries will be displayed downstairs in l’Auberge de Savoie for viewing by guests during any of the Interludes.
